GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Teen accused of setting security box on fire at Walmart and Ontario man involved in a hit and run with a golf cart

John R. Delara, 19, of Macarthur Dr., Batavia, is charged with arson 5th, petit larceny and criminal mischief 4th after allegedly setting a security box on fire to gain access to $29.00 Apple ear buds at Walmart on August 26, 2017.

Delara then disposed of the still smouldering box under a metal display rack and attempted to leave the store with items before being stopped by Walmart Loss Prevention.

Delara was issued appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on September 28, 2017.

 

Ian L. Hofford , 53, of Bluff Trail, Nobleton, Ontario, is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, without owners consent, DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, refusal to take a breath test and moving from a lane unsafely after allegedly operating a golf cart without the owners permission at Darien Lake on August 26, 2017 at 11:38p.m.

Hofford also allegedly struck another vehicle and left the the scene of the accident.

After a police investigation, Hofford allegedly moved from the lane unsafely and operated the golf cart while intoxicated.

He was arraigned in Darien Town Court and jailed in lieu of $5,000 cash and $10,000 bond bail and will re-appear in court on September 21, 2017 at 1:00p.m.

 

 

Galen B. Sundown, 24, of Council House Rd., Tonawanada Indian Reservation, is charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, driving with a BAC of .18% or more, unreasonable speed, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and operating a motor vehicle on a public highway while using a mobile phone after a personal injury accident at 509 Council House road on August 27, 2017 at 2:34a.m.

Sundown was issued appearance tickets and released. He will appear in the Town of Alabama Court on October 24, 2017
