WYOMING COUNTY/Attica Police Report/Man found unresponsive with vehicle in gear at a railroad crossing

On March 25, 2018 at about 2:10 a.m., James Saari, 34, of Sierk Rd., Attica was arrested for DWI, DWI/refusal and stopped on pavement, following a traffic stop on West Avenue in the Village of Attica. Saari was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of the vehicle stopped at the railroad crossing while the vehicle was running and in gear. Saari was arraigned in the Village of Attica Court and was released on his own recognizance and is to reappear in the Village of Attica Court on April 9, 2018.

 

On April 2, 2018, at about 12:30 a.m., Jessica Valvano-Hoag, 22, of Rochester, was arrested for harassment 2nd following a domestic that occurred in the Village of Attica. Through further investigation, Valvano-Hoag was also arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd and for operating a motor vehicle without a license. Valvano-Hoag was issued an appearance ticket for harassment 2nd and arraigned in the Village of Attica Court on the aggravated unlicensed operation and operating a motor vehicle without a license charges. As a result, Valvano-Hoag was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail on $75.00 cash bail or $2500.00 bond. Valvano-Hoag is due to appear in the Village of Attica Court on April 9, 2018.

 

On March 24, 2018, at approximately 11:27 p.m., the Attica Police Department stopped a vehicle on Main Street for two vehicle and traffic violations. Further investigation showed the operator, Jessalyn K. Pitts, 22,  of Castile, to be driving while intoxicated. Pitts was arrested and charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more, passing a flashing red light, stopped on pavement and broken glass. She was later arraigned in the Village of Attica Court. Pitts was released on her own recognizance and is to reappear in the Village of Attica Court on April 9, 2018.
