STATE POLICE REPORT/ LeRoy man charged in identity theft investigation

On June 13, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the New York State Police at Warsaw arrested Jayson M. Connolly, 43, of LeRoy, for grand larceny 4th, identity theft 2nd, unlawful possession of personal identification 3rd and a parole violation.

Troopers were advised that Connolly had stolen a credit card from another person and subsequently made three transactions at three separate institutions totaling $987.00. In addition, Connolly was determined to have an active parole status in New York.

Connolly was arrested, arraigned and held at the Wyoming County Jail.

He is scheduled to return for a felony hearing on June 19, 2018.

The Troopers were also assisted by New York Department of Corrections and Community Supervision -Parole Division.

 

On June 13, 2018, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the New York State Police at Warsaw arrested Duane R. Schmidt, 39, of Arcade on the misdemeanor of DWI with a reported B.A.C of 0.15%.

Troopers were dispatched to a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Genesee Road and Rt. 98, in the Town of Arcade. During the accident investigation, it was determined Schmidt failed to observe a stop sign on Genesee Road. Schmidt continued through the intersection of Rt. 98 and struck another stopped vehicle.

Schmidt was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the the Town of Arcade Court on June 28, 2018.

The Troopers were also assisted on scene by the Arcade Police Department.
