WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Silver Springs man on felony probation for DWI arrested after erratically driving around the Village of Perry

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple complaints of an erratic driver in the Village of Perry on June 25, 2018.

The suspect vehicle was located while parked in the Village Park in the Village of Perry, and Michael S. Slocum, 30, of Silver Springs was found stumbling while walking around the vehicle. Slocum, who had been placed on felony probation in January of 2018 for a felony DWI, was found to have been driving the vehicle alone throughout the Village of Perry.

Slocum had only a New York State Identification Card, and his driving privileges were suspended or revoked 8 times including one revocation for DWI. Slocum failed standardized field sobriety testing, and Slocum was subsequently arrested for felony DWI.

He is charged with felony DWI, felony driving with .08% BAC or higher, felony aggravated unlicensed operation 1st, unlicensed operator and operating in violation of ignition interlock restriction.

Slocum was arraigned in the Village of Perry Court where bail was set in the amount of $10,000.00 cash bail or $20,000.00 bond. Slocum is scheduled for further proceedings in the Village of Perry Court on August 7, 2018.
