Just after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, The Town of Batavia Fire Department along with a Mercy ambulance was dispatched to a serious rollover accident with a person pinned under the vehicle on Assemblymen R. Stephen Hawley Drive just over the hill near GCC.
The Town of Batavia Fire Department was able to lift the vehicle off the person while a tow truck from Parises was used to hold the vehicle in place and prevent it from rolling back on to the victim. A nearby farmer was also on scene with his tractor to offer assistance.
According to the Town of Batavia Fire Department, the person was extricated in under 6 minutes.
The person was then air lifted to Strong hospital by Mercy Flight according to a Trooper on scene.
State Police investigators were also on scene, but did not provide the condition of the person transported.
Troopers did say the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
UPDATE: According to State Police, Gerald E. Nicholson, 51, of Batavia, was injured in the accident. His condition is unknown.
