WYOMING COUNTY/Perry/Garage fire caused by faulty cooling fan

A garage fire at 3444 Suckerbrook road in the Town of Perry was caused by a faulty cooling fan according to Wyoming County Fire investigators.

Fire companies from Perry, Perry Center, Silver Springs, Castile, Gainesville and Pavilion responded to the blaze about 5:40p.m. Monday afternoon.

The tenant of the garage, Kenneth O’Neal, had 15 dogs inside the garage at the time that were rescued from the fire with one receiving a very minor injury. The garage is owned by Trisha Severson and the estimated loss is $1,000.

Quick action by the Perry Police and Perry Center Firefighters using fire extinguishers limited the damage to the garage and harm to the dogs.

No one was injured in the blaze.
