PERRY POLICE REPORT/Rochester man found driving without adult supervision, accused of driving under the influence of drugs

On the evening of October 18, 2018, Perry Police Officers conducted a routine traffic stop for a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

Upon stopping the vehicle, Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle, 35 year old Detric Marshall of Rochester, New York. Upon speaking with Marshall, it was found that Marshall was operating a motor vehicle with a learners permit with no supervised adult in the front seat and was possibly impaired.

Marshall was then asked to perform field sobriety tests.

After performing poorly on field sobriety testing, Marshall was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while ability impaired by drugs. Officers transported Marshall to 46 North Main Street, The Perry Police Department, where a Drug Recognition Evaluation was performed.

The drug recognition expert from the Wyoming County Sherriff’ Department determined that Marshall was impaired by drugs. Officers charged Marshall with speeding in a zone, operating a motor vehicle with a learner permit with no supervision over the age of 21 years old/ licensed adult, and DWAI/drugs.

Marshall was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. He was arraigned in front of Honorable Judge Miller in Perry Village Court and was released on his own recognizance and given a return court date of December 4, 2018 at 01:00p.m. in Perry Village Court.
