GENESEE COUNTY/Stafford Historical Society remembers those who served in World War 1

The Stafford Historical Society remembered the 32 men who served during World War I, The Great War, on Armistice Day at the Memorial stone at Ilette Park on Sunday morning.

Town Historian Garth Swanson provided some background information on World War I and Historical Society President Linda Call read the 32 names of Stafford residents who served.

26 Stafford residents served in the Army, and 3 each in the Navy and Marines.

The Flanders Field poem, written by John McCrae, was also recited.

Today marks 100 years since the end of World War I.
