A faulty wood stove chimney is to blame for a fire at a residence at 1615 Rt. 238 in the Town of Attica about 12:51a.m. Monday morning.
Attica Fire along with Warsaw, Bennington, Varysburg and North Java Fire responded to the scene and were on location for about 3.5 hours.
No one was injured in the blaze.
The home is owned by Paul and Christine Hibsch. The occupants of the home will be staying with family and friends as the home is a total loss.
Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services, Wyoming County Sheriff’s, NYS Police and National Grid.
