On December 14, 2018 Deputies were patrolling south bound on Route 246 in the Town of Perry when they observed a gray van traveling south bound with an estimated vehicle speed of 67 mph and radar confirmed that the vehicle was traveling 67 mph in a 55 mph zone. A registration check was submitted that showed an expired registration of 12/4/2018. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle on State Route 246.
The operator of the vehicle identified himself as Nicholas Disalvo, 34, of Mt. Morris, NY. A driver’s license check was submitted and the deputies were advised that Disalvo had a suspended driver’s license and a total of 6 suspensions. He was placed under arrested for aggravated operation in the second degree.
He was issued the following uniform traffic tickets; unregistered motor vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operation in the 2nd degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd degree, unlicensed operator and speed in zone.
Disalvo was transported to Perry Town Court for arraignment in front of Judge Rhodes. He was held at the Wyoming County Jail with bail set at $3,000 cash or $3,000 bond with a return court date of January 9, 2019 6p.m. at the Perry Town Court.
Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to North Main Street in Castile for a reported MVA with injuries on December 21, 2018.
Upon arrival it was found that Luis Rodriguez, 58, of Pike, had veered off the west side of the road on Main Street and struck a fire hydrant. Deputies believed that Rodriguez was under the influence of alcohol and requested Rodriguez perform field sobriety tests. Rodriguez failed the tests and was arrested for DWI.
He is charged with unsafe lane change and felony DWI due to a previous DWI conviction in 2015. Rodriguez was arraigned and remanded to Wyoming County Jail on $2,500 bail.
Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jaswant Sandhu, 76, of Bakersfield, California, for a log book violation on December 18, 2018.
Sandhu was observed traveling west on Route 20A in a semi and attached trailer in violation of the 9 ton weight limit. During the traffic stop, Sandhu was observed to have a log book showing he had driven for 12 hours straight. Sandhu was charged with the unclassified misdemeanor of a log book violation along with numerous other vehicle and traffic laws.
Sandhu is to answer his summons at the Warsaw Town Court on January 14, 2019.
Derrick Barney, 39, of Fillmore, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 436 in the Town of Genesee Falls on December 22, 2018.
Barney was stopped for speeding. Barney failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. He is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC .08% or more, and speed in zone. He is to appear in the Town of Genesee Falls Court on January 9, 2019.
On December 13, 2018, Deputy Hope responded to Route 78 in the Town of Java for a report of a one car motor vehicle accident.
Jeremy Cecala, 32, of Arcade, was operating his vehicle west bound on Route 78 when the vehicle went off of the roadway and collided head on with a tree.
Cecala was transported to Erie County Medical Center by ambulance to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
