BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/Bergen man runs out of gas during high speed pursuit

Robert W. Redinger, 29, of Dublin Rd., Bergen, was arrested after he refused to pull over for a traffic stop, leading police on a high speed pursuit on December 29, 2018.

Redinger’s vehicle eventually ran out of gas on Harvester avenue.

Police say he was found to be allegedly intoxicated.

Redinger is charged with DWI/combined drugs or alcohol, unlawful fleeing a police officer 3rd, reckless driving, failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, refusal to take a breath test, passing a red light, four counts of moving from a lane unsafely, speeding in a zone, four counts, unsafe start, two counts, failure to stop at a stop sign, three counts and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was arraigned in City Court by Judge Balbick who remanded him to the jail.

Ranelle E. Reuben, 36, of Judge Rd., Basom, left the scene of a property damage accident on West Main street on December 18, 2018.

Reuben allegedly struck another vehicle and was allegedly intoxicated while operating without a license.

He is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more of alcohol, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st, following too closely and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Reuben was arraigned in City Court by Judge Rogers and remanded to the jail without bail. He returned to court on December 19, 2018.

Trace G. Brewer, 18, of Montclair Ave., Batavia, is charged with burglary 3rd, petit larceny and criminal trespass 3rd after he allegedly entered a shed and stole property on Montclair Avenue on December 30, 2018.

Brewer was arraigned in City Court and is scheduled to return to court at a later date.

George M. Hodges, 28, of Oak St., Batavia, is charged with obstructing governmental administration 2nd and harassment 2nd after interfering with police while they were investigating a disturbance call on Oak street on December 30, 2018.

Hodges was arraigned in City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail on $1,000 cash or bond bail. He re-appeared in court on December 31, 2018.

Billie L. Harper, 41, of Hutchins Pl., Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, unlawful possession of marijuana, DWAI/drugs and cracked front windshield after Harper was located asleep in her vehicle at the intersection of Washington Avenue and State street on December 23, 2018 at 9:07a.m.

Police were called after a citizen complaint of a subject slouched over the steering wheel. After an investigation it was determined that Harper was allegedly impaired.

She was arrested and is scheduled to appear in City Court on January 15, 2019 at 1:00p.m.

Joshua J. Dibble, 36, homeless, of Batavia, was arrested on an active arrest warrant issued out of City Court for petit larceny.

Dibble allegedly stole a 12 pack of beer from a business, failing to pay for the merchandise. The incident occurred at Tops Supermarkets at 390 West Main street on October 4, 2018.

Dibble was arraigned in City court and jailed in lieu of $1,000 cash or bond bail.

He appeared in court again on January 3, 2019.

Derrick L. Washington, 46, of Roosevelt Ave., Batavia, is charged with DWI , driving with a BAC of .08% or more, speeding in a zone, unlicensed operator and aggravated unlicensed operation after a traffic stop on Liberty street on December 31, 2018.

Washington was allegedly intoxicated by alcohol.

He was arraigned in City Court and jailed on $1,000 cash or bond bail.

Matthew T. Ryan, 42, of Henskee Rd., Alden, is charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, driving with a BAC of .18% or more following an investigation into a vehicle complaint on Walnut street on December 21, 2018.

Police responded to the area and found Ryan was allegedly operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.

Ryan was processed and appeared in City Court on January 2, 2019.

Ernest D. Lane, 60, of Ellicott St., Batavia, is charged with criminal mischief after intentionally breaking property that belonged to a female acquaintance that he resides with.

Lane was arraigned in City Court and jailed in lieu of $2,500 cash bail.

Tiesha D. Doward, 32, of Bank St., Batavia, was arrested for petit larceny following a shoplifting complaint at Tops Supermarket at 390 West Main street.

On December 31, 2018, Doward allegedly left the store with $99.69 worth of merchandise and did not pay for it.

She will be arraigned in City Court on January 8, 2019 at 1:00p.m.
