LEROY/Batavia man facing felony charges after disturbance in November

A reported disturbance on November 26, 2018 on Lake Street in the Village of LeRoy has led to charges of felony burglary 2nd, misdemeanor attempted petit larceny and felony criminal contempt 1st against 42 year old Nicholas G. Williams of West Main Rd, Batavia. 

After an investigation, it is alleged that Williams knowingly entered and/or unlawfully remained inside a residence on Lake Street in LeRoy with the intent of committing the crime of petit larceny and allegedly did commit the crime of attempted petit larceny as Williams attempted to steal a laptop computer from inside the residence, but was interrupted and fled the scene.   

Williams is charged with felony criminal contempt 1st as it is alleged that a protected person lived at the residence he entered and an order of protection was issued ordering Williams to stay away from this residence.  This was a felony as Williams was convicted of a prior criminal contempt within the preceding five years. 

Williams was located in the Genesee County Jail where he was confined due to an alleged Parole Violation.   He was arrested on December 20, 2018 for the LeRoy charges and arraigned in the LeRoy Town Court and committed to the Genesee County Jail without bail due to multiple prior felony convictions.
