STATE POLICE/Batavia man charged after allegedly taking a TV from a local motel

On January 6, 2019 at 10:54 pm, Troopers out of Batavia arrested Joseph M. Marranco, 47, of Batavia, for petit larceny.

Troopers were dispatched to a local motel in the town of Batavia for a larceny complaint. While en route to the complaint, Troopers observed Marranco riding his bike on Main Street in the city of Batavia carrying a flat screen television tucked underneath his arm.

Further investigation revealed Marranco was recently at the same motel and claimed a motel guest stated he could borrow the motel’s television. Marranco was subsequently arrested for petit larceny.

Marranco was arraigned in Batavia Town Court where he was remanded on $1,000 cash bail.
