WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Scottsville woman accused of taking over $35,000 from her former employer

Cheryl A. Watson, 46, of Scottsville, NY, is charged with 2 counts of grand larceny 3rd, a class D felony, after she was found to have taken $35,400 between July 5, 2017-August 16, 2018 from accounts that her former employer was in charge of.

Watson was arraigned in the Village of Warsaw Justice Court and released on her own recognizance.

Investigator Jason Mayer is in charge of the case.

Brady Stoffer, 40, of Perry was arrested by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant issued by Judge Skotnicki of the Town of Wethersfield Court for an incident that occurred at a residence on Wethersfield Road in the Town of Wethersfield on August 17, 2017.

Deputies were at a neighboring residence when they were alerted to a marijuana growing operation by another individual. After applying for a search warrant, Deputies located the suspected operation in a trailer on the property and seized the growing equipment, lights and other drug paraphernalia.

Stoffer is charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd, unlawfully growing cannabis and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Deputies were unable to immediately locate Stoffer.

Stoffer was located on January 7, 2019 by the Village of Perry Police Department after they learned of his whereabouts. Stoffer was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail after he was arraigned by Judge Mohun in Wyoming County Court. Bail was set at $1700 cash bail/$3400 bond.

Stoffer has a return court date of January 15, 2019 in the Town of Wethersfield Court.

Deputies John Button, Bradley McGinnis and Aaron Chase are investigating the case.

An Attica man was arrested for DWI following the initial report of a structure fire on Cotton Hill Road in the Town of Bennington on January 9, 2019 at 9:00p.m..

Bennington and Attica Fire Departments were dispatched and upon arrival discovered that it was actually a vehicle fire. Both departments assisted in putting the fire out.

Michael Sarata, 60, of Cotton Hill Road had backed into a ditch and his vehicle then caught on fire while trying to get it out.

Sarata is charged with unsafe backing, DWI, aggravated DWI, and driving with a BAC above .08%. Sarata is scheduled to appear in the Town of Bennington Court at a later date.

The investigation was handled by Inv. Aaron Anderson and Deputy Aaron Chase.
