GENESEE COUNTY/Deputy Fire Coordinator retires after 31 years

On Friday January 18, 2019, an official helmet retirement was held at the Stafford Fire Hall for Donald D.R. Roblee.

Roblee has served as Genesee County’s East Battalion, GM5, Fire Coordinator for 31 years.

On December 31, 2018 D.R. retired as Deputy Fire Coordinator with the County, but will continue to serve as a volunteer firefighter and Assistant Chief with the Pavilion Fire Company. He will also continue to run his business, Don Roblee Plumbing and Heating.

“DR is very knowledgeable, never rattled, always calm and professional, and always so very helpful in whatever situation we are faced with. DR has been our fire coordinator, a mentor, a fire department’s past President, past Chief, assistant Chief, EMS person of the year along with many other titles, but the most important title in those 31 years is that of our friend,” says Stafford Fire Chief Stephanie Call.

The East Battalion is comprised of the Bergen, Byron, LeRoy, Pavilion, South Byron and Stafford fire departments.
