Brandon Connolly was named Firefighter of the Year for 2018 at the LeRoy Fire Department Installation Dinner at Terry Hills in Batavia on Saturday evening at their annual banquet and awards ceremony.
Chief Tom Wood says, “Connolly is always willing to help with extra details like parades and setting up, he pretty much does anything we ask.”
The department responded to 294 calls in 2018.
A new award was created in honor of longtime Safety Officer Joe Orlando, and Chris DeFelice was the first recipient of the award for 2018.
