STATE POLICE/Arcade man arrested during traffic stop on the thruway

On March 6, 2019,at approximately 4:52 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-190 in the city of Buffalo for a vehicle and traffic violation. 

During the interview of the occupants, probable cause to search the vehicle was established.  The driver, Ernest L. Bogardus, 27, of Arcade, NY, was found to be in possession of approximately 56 grams of marijuana. 

The driver and passenger, Murray A. Lamarand, 38, of Hamburg, NY were also found to be in possession of approximately 1.8 grams of cocaine.  Both men were taken into custody and transported to State Police in Buffalo where they were charged with the following:

Ernest L. Bogardus:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree; a Class D Felony
  • Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree; a Class B Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations

Murray A. Lamarand:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree; a Class D Felony

Both men were arraigned in the City of Buffalo Court.  No bail information or return court date available at this time.
