GENESEE COUNTY/Corrections officer pleads guilty to sexual abuse

Adam Brokaw, 43, of Batavia, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse 1st, a class D felony, on February 20, 2019.

The indictment, filed in July of 2018, accused Brokaw of attempting to engage in sexual intercourse with another person who was incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless from November 11-12, 2017 in the City of Batavia.

Brokaw pleaded guilty to sexual abuse 1st, after subjecting another person to sexual contact who was incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless on November 11th through the 12th, 2017.

Batavia Police say the incident occurred at a party at a residence in the City of Batavia.

Brokaw faces a maximum sentence of 10 years of probation with either 6 months of straight time in the Genesee County Jail or 4 months of weekends in jail.

Brokaw will be sentenced on April 26, 2019 at 2:30p.m. At the time of indictment he was a corrections officer for NYS in Albion.

  1. Class D felony… Shouldn’t max be 7 years in prison? Looks like they plead another one down. Nice work.

  2. Dirty POS… justice for these pigs isn’t the jail, probation or having to register… justice for them is best served by the good people of the community via lynching or just a good old fashioned beatdown from a complete stranger…
