ORLEANS COUNTY/East Shelby/House a total loss after morning fire

Fire departments from Orleans and Genesee counties responded to a two alarm blaze at 5582 East Shelby road about 5:05a.m. on Saturday morning.

When crews first arrived on scene the home was fully engulfed in flames with heavy smoke showing.

A woman who was at home at the time was able to escape the fire with three dogs, but according to the East Shelby Fire Department there are two dogs still unaccounted for.

The original call was for a kitchen fire.

The home is a total loss and the Red Cross has been called in to assist the residents.

Orleans County Fire investigators are on scene looking for the cause of the fire.
