STAFFORD/Kitchen fire damages home on Horseshoe Lake road

Seven fire companies were involved in a 2nd alarm fire at 6000 Horseshoe Lake road on Thursday morning.

According to Assistant Chief Mark Dougherty, the female occupant of the house heard a crash in the kitchen and noticed a fire in the area.

The female occupant was able to get out of the house, but suffered some smoke inhalation and was treated on scene.

One cat did not make it and one other is unaccounted for.

The woman will be staying with family as the house is not habitable at this time, but may be repairable.
