PERRY POLICE REPORT/Man charged after traffic stop for speeding

On July 27, 2019, at about 1:45a.m., James L. Reilly, 27, of Roxbury, CT, was arrested following a traffic stop on South Main Street in the Village of Perry.  

Officer Harding was traveling northbound on South Main Street and observed Reilly’s vehicle traveling southbound at 42mph in a marked 30mph zone. Reilly also failed to dim his headlights when he passed Officer Harding’s patrol car.

Officer Harding turned around to pursue the vehicle and initiated a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop near Camp Road.

A data check of Reilly’s license showed he had a failure to pay fine suspension out of the Town of Stony Point, in Rockland County.

Reilly is charged with speed in zone, failure to dim headlights, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree.

Reilly was issued appearance tickets and released to a valid driver. Reilly is due to appear in the Village of Perry Court at a later date.
