Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of Dunbar Road and Exchange Street Road in the Town of Attica for the report of a two vehicle collision with injuries on September 8, 2019.
Following an investigation, it was determined that Alexis M. Brown, 20 of Albany, NY, was operating a 2013 Nissan Sentra color white eastbound on Dunbar Road. Brown, who had one passenger in her vehicle, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Exchange Street Road.
Brown’s vehicle entered the intersection and struck a northbound Jeep Wrangler occupied by a family of five. The collision left the intersection blocked by the Jeep and sent Brown’s vehicle into a grassy area on the northeast corner of the intersection. Brown and an occupant of the Jeep were transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center where they were treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.
Brown’s passenger was transported by ambulance to ECMC where he was admitted for non-life threatening injuries. The passenger was listed as stable as of September 9, 2019.
Following an investigation into the cause of the collision, Brown was charged with the following: Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Reckless Driving, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Using a Portable Electronic Device, Failed to Yield Right-Of-Way at Stop Sign, Failed To Stop At Stop Sign, Violation of Restricted Use License, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana in the Second Degree.
Brown was released to a family member and is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Attica Court on October 14, 2019.
