GENESEE COUNTY/Sheriff’s Office investigating a serious ATV accident in Alexander

UPDATE

According to a Genesee County Sheriff’s press release, Michelle G. Buckenmeyer, 33, of Alexander, was ejected from the ATV after it appeared to have collided with a chained barricade across a private laneway.

She was pronounced dead by the Erie County Medical Examiners Office at 4:06a.m.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The crash is being investigated by Investigator Howard Carlson, Deputy Nicholas Chamoun and Deputy James Stack. Assisting at the scene were members of the Alexander Fire Dept., Mercy EMS, Mercy Flight and Ron and Newts Towing.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious ATV accident that occurred about 12:30a.m. Saturday morning on Seward road in Alexander.

Alexander Fire and ambulance along with Mercy ambulance and Mercy Flight responded to the scene at 9932 Seward road for an ATV that is believed to have struck a chain while it was traveling east down a laneway.

The female driver of the ATV, in her early 30’s, suffered serious life threatening injuries and was transported to ECMC via Mercy Flight.

The other ATV driver who was traveling with her, was not involved in the accident.

Investigators say the pair is from the area, but were not familiar with the laneway.

More information will be released later today by the Sheriff’s Office.
