ORLEANS COUNTY/Man on Parole arrested on drug charges in Shelby

ON OCTOBER 1, 2019, AFTER AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF CRACK COCAINE IN THE VILLAGE OF MEDINA, N.Y, THE ORLEANS COUNTY MAJOR FELONY CRIME TASK FORCE AND THE MEDINA POLICE DEPT. EXECUTED A SEARCH WARRANT ON APPLEGATE DRIVE IN THE APPLEWOOD TRAILER PARK LOCATED ON SALTWORKS RD. IN THE TOWN OF SHELBY, N.Y. TASK FORCE MEMBERS ARRESTED AN INDIVIDUAL ON NUMEROUS DRUG CHARGES WHO IS CURRENTLY ON PAROLE WITH THE NYS DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS AND COMMUNITY SUPERVISION.

POLICE ARRESTED:

· RONALD O. RILEY, AGE 40, OF APPLEGATE DRIVE., MEDINA, N.Y., IS CHARGED WITH:

3 COUNTS OF CRIMINAL SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE. (CLASS B FELONIES).

3 COUNT OF CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE. (CLASS B FELONIES).

3 COUNTS OF CRIMINALLY USING DRUG PARAPERNALIA IN THE SECOND DEGREE. (A MISDEMEANORS).

RILEY WAS ARRAIGNED IN THE TOWN OF SHELBY JUSTICE COURT, BY THE HON. DAWN KEPPLER, HE WAS COMMITTED TO THE ORLEANS COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT BAIL DUE TO HIS PREVIOUS CRIMINAL HISTORY. RILEY IS TO RETURN TO ORLEANS COUNTY COURT FOR A BAIL HEARING, DATE YET TO BE DETERMINED.

A PAROLE DETAINER WAS ALSO FILED WITH THE ORLEANS COUNTY JAIL BY THE NYS DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS AND COMMUNITY SUPERVISION.

ORLEANS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY JEFF COLE AND HIS K9 PARTNER OTTO ALSO ASSISTED THE TASK FORCE AT THE SEARCH WARRANT.

FURTHER ARRESTS AND CHARGES ARE PENDING IN THIS INVESTIGATION.
