GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Pratt road man accused of bringing narcotics into the jail

Jay Blatchley, 46, of Pratt Rd., Batavia, is charged with promoting prison contraband 1st and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th after an investigation into contraband that was found in the Genesee County Jail on October 19, 2019.

Blatchley allegedly brought narcotics into the jail without permission.

He was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and jailed in lieu of $5,000.

He is to re-appear in court on October 23, 2019 at 9:00a.m.

Casey D. Nutting, 44, of Union St., Batavia, is charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, driving with a BAC of .18% or more and refusal to take a breath test after a suspicious condition call.

Sgt. Kellogg with the LeRoy Police Department was following Nutting’s vehicle and observed numerous vehicle and traffic violations before Nutting pulled over on Rt. 5 in Stafford at the NYS DOT building.

Sgt. Kellogg stopped out with the vehicle to check Nutting’s welfare then turned the investigation over to deputies.

During the course of the investigation, it is alleged that Nutting was found to be intoxicated by alcohol. He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Stafford Town Court on November 5, 2019 at 9:00a.m.
