BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/S. Main street man charged with gang assault

Riley B. Mayer, 21, of S. Main St., Batavia, is charged with gang assault 1st, causing serious physical injury to a person, after an incident on Highland Park on October 4, 2019.

Mayer was arraigned in City Court on October 8, 2019 and jailed in lieu of $5,000 cash and $10,000 bond bail. He re-appeared in City Court on October 8, 2019.

The investigation is currently ongoing.

Zachari R. Morgan, 23, of Highland Park, Batavia, is charged with menacing 2nd after being arrested on October 17, 2019 after an incident on Highland Park on October 17, 2019.

Morgan allegedly threatened bodily harm to someone with a hammer .

Morgan was arrested at his residence and released on an appearance ticket. He is to appear in City Court on October 29, 2019 at 1:00p.m.

Shaqueita L. Irvin, 27, of Ellicott Ave., Batavia, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child/acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17, after an investigation into failing to provide adequate supervision for her 6 year old daughter over 30 times.

Irvin’s daughter was dismissed from school and sent home on the bus, upon her arrival at her residence, no one was home to receive her. The 6 year old was then returned to the school for supervision.

Irvin was issued an appearance ticket and released.

John W. Walsh, 36, of W. Main St., Batavia, is charged with open container after being found with an open container of alcohol in front of a local business at 204 West Main street on October 12, 2019.

Walsh was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court on October 22, 2019 at 1:00p.m.
