BATAVIA/GOART! Play Me a Tune Music Garden cuts the ribbon

The Grand Opening and Open House for the new Play Me A Tune Music Garden at GO ART! was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at GO ART!, located at 201 Main St. in Batavia.

The music garden is located on the east side of the Seymour Place building.

The 18 weather resistant instruments from England are available to play whenever GOART! is open.

Wed-11-8pm

Thurs-11-9pm

Frid-11-10pm

Sat-10-2pm and 6-10pm

GOART! is closed Sun-Tues

The new wall mural, designed by artist Jill Pettigrew and painted with help from the Genesee County Senior Center and other community members, was also celebrated.

“What I think is amazing about it is I want to play the instruments with them. I hope parents will be excited about bringing their kids here,” says Gregory Hallock, Executive Director of GOART!

The music garden is made possible through funding from KaBOOM! and the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation. GOART! was awarded $70,000 through the Play Everywhere Challenge grant, which is about getting kids outside to play in abnormal spaces.
