WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Inmate at County Jail arrested for assault

An inmate at the Wyoming County Jail was arrested for assault in the second degree following an incident that occurred on October 29, 2019, involving another inmate at the Wyoming County Jail.

Noah Robinson, 18, of Rochester, N.Y. was arraigned before Warsaw Justice Blythe and was committed back to jail on $25,000 bail on November 4, 2019.

Robinson is scheduled to appear in the Village of Warsaw Court at a later date. Investigator Brad McGinnis and Wyoming County Jail staff assisted with the investigation.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of Route 78 and East Arcade Road in the Town of Java for a the report of a two vehicle collision with injuries on November 1, 2019.

Following an investigation it was determined that Paul Lawrence , 46 of Arcade, NY, was operating a 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on East Arcade Road when he failed to yield the right of way at a yield sign at the intersection of Route 78. Lawrence’s vehicle entered the intersection and struck a southbound tractor trailer operated by Gary Sosnowski, 52, of Depew, NY head- on. Lawrence was issued a summons for failure to yield at a yield sign and is scheduled to answer the charge in Java Court at a later date.

Lawrence was transported by North Java Ambulance to ECMC where he was admitted for non-life threatening injuries. Sosnowski was transported by Strykersville Ambulance to the Wyoming County Community Hospital where he was treated and released.

Barber’s Automotive and DMR Trucking both responded to remove the vehicles form the accident scene. North Java Ambulance, Strykersville Ambulance, Medic 80 and the NYS Department of Transportation all assisted at the scene.
