Number three Letsaw (9-1) defeated number one seed LeRoy (9-1), 26-6 this afternoon at SUNY Brockport in the Section 5 Class C Championship game.
MVP Quarterback Brett Vasile started the scoring for Letsaw with a keeper in the 1st quarter from the 1 yard line.
In the second quarter, William Shearing intercepted a Kyler LaCarte pass in the Knights end of the field to make the score 12-0. Vasile capitalized on the two point conversion and Letsaw held a 14-0 lead at the half.
Early in the 4th quarter, LeRoy finally got on the board with short push into the endzone by Andrew Englerth to make the score 14-6. The extra point was no good.
In response, Letsaw came back down the field and Dalton English caught a nice pass to make the score 20-6.
Later in the fourth, Chad Hallopeter added one more TD and Letsaw has now won back to back Section 5 championships.
Letsaw will now move on to the NYS Far West Regionals and will play Southwestern from Section 6 at 1:00p.m. next Saturday at SUNY Brockport
