About 20 people showed up outside of the Batavia City Centre on Main street in Batavia this morning to voice their displeasure with the countrywide issue of government overreach and the taking away of constitutional rights.

Daniel Crane and Bill Fox say they showed up today in support of the 14 Amish families in Michigan whose homes have been threatened to be demolished if not brought up to code with plumbing to support modern water and sewer systems.

“Frankly, its not the government’s business to invade the privacy of these people and their right to live peacefully,” says Crane.

The Amish say that indoor plumbing and an electronic pump violate their religious beliefs. The Lenawee County health department condemned the homes and has declared them as unfit for human habitation. The health department then filed lawsuits against all 14 of the Amish families in November.

The pair say that in New York state, the overreach and violations of the constitution are gradual, where as in Virginia they are going for the whole thing.

“They want it all in one lump sum,” says Bill Fox, of SCOPE/Genesee County

“Here it started with the Safe Act, we don’t need government to take care of us, we can take care of ourselves.”

Some counties in Virginia are declaring themselves 2nd amendment sanctuary cities, which will oppose gun control measures, as the state is planning to create tighter gun control laws

Parents are also giving up their rights to make decisions for their kids.

“Vaccinations without parental consent is way too much.”

“If people don’t want to inject certain ingredients and chemicals into their bodies, the government shouldn’t be telling them what to do. They put it under the guise of public safety. There is just too much overreach.”

Fox, Chairman of the Genesee County Chapter of Scope, says his group meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Calvary Baptist church on Galloway road in Batavia at 7:00p.m. This coming Tuesday the Sheriff will speak along with a LeRoy Police Sergeant in regards to bail reform.
