GENESEE COUNTY/Newton honored for 50 years of active service at the East Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department

The East Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department honored Donald Newton Sr. on Friday night at the 2020 Installation Banquet held at Batavia Downs.

Newton was honored for 50 years of dedicated active service at the department. Some of the jobs he has held, Commissioner, Captain, Lieutenant, Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, President, Vice President, Board of Directors and Hero.

Chief Don Newton Jr. says the Department responded to 318 calls for 2019 and put in 1200 manhours.
