STATE POLICE REPORT/Batavia man arrested after firing gun in residence

On April 4, 2020, Troopers out of SP Batavia arrested William R. Metz, 48, of Batavia, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (C Felony), Menacing 2nd degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Criminal Mischief 4th degree.

On April 4, 2020, Troopers responded to a 911 report of a possible domestic on Batavia Oakfield Town Line Road in the town of Oakfield.  Further investigation revealed that Metz threatened the victim with a weapon and fired multiple rounds in the residence.  Metz was arrested and transported to SP Batavia for processing. 

Metz was arraigned at the town of Oakfield Court and remanded to Genesee County Jail on $2,500 cash, $5,000 bond.

The NYSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) assisted in this investigation.
