The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a larceny in progress on the afternoon of April 9, 2020 at the Wal-Mart store in Warsaw.
Upon arrival, deputies found the suspect, Stephen W. Thompson, 42, of Attica, to have concealed the stolen items inside of his jacket and pants pockets.
Walmart staff reported the male to be the suspect from a larceny in this same store just last week.
Thompson was placed in custody and was subsequently charged with two separate charges of petit larceny. He was processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and was released on an appearance ticket.
Thompson will be required to appear in the Town of Warsaw court at a later date to answer his charges.
On April 3, 2020, at about 9:25p.m., deputies were patrolling northbound on North Main Street in the Village of Warsaw, when a vehicle was observed turning southbound onto Main Street from Elm Street.
Deputies performed a random data check on the vehicle’s registration, which showed it was suspended for an insurance lapse. Deputies pursued the vehicle and a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was initiated on South Main Street near Brooklyn Street.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Brooke K. Devinney, 27, of Perry.
After further investigation, Devinney was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked registration and unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree.
Devinney was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Warsaw Village Court at a later date.
