On April 9th, Lisa Lippold Cochrane’s husband decided he wanted to do something to show the correctional employees at Wyoming Correctional Facility on Dunbar road in Attica, that they are appreciated during this difficult time.

Using a Facebook site set up for retired correctional officers, he reached out to his fellow retired workers and asked if they would like to contribute money to feed approximately 300 employees at Wyoming Correctional, covering all three shifts.

The response was overwhelming.

Just over 60 retired employees from Wyoming Correctional donated over $3,000. Some of the retired employees even donated in memory of others who have passed.

The meal event not only helped the employees at Wyoming Correctional, but helped two local restaurants that are suffering during this time.

The Prospector in Attica was contacted and they made breakfast sandwiches with hash browns, all individually wrapped, for the 11am – 7am and 7am – 3pm shifts.

Twilight Meadows in Attica was also contacted and they made turkey wraps with macaroni salad, all individually wrapped, for the 3pm – 11pm shift.

One of the retirees made cookies to hand out with the meals. They were decorated with the department seal and made by Tricia Fietz from Cookies 2 Remember, an online bakery located on the premises of Oliver’s Candies.
