GENESEE COUNTY/BATAVIA/Motorcyclist succumbs to injuries sustained in Saturday accident

According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist involved in the crash that occurred with a bicyclist on Rt. 5 on Saturday, has succumbed to his injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office says Joshua T. Fullmer , 27, of Batavia died on April 27, 2020.

The bicyclist, Cassidy Underhill, 16, remains in serious condition at ECMC with multiple injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

The initial investigation has revealed that a bicycle, operated by a 16 year old female from the City of Batavia, was traveling northbound on Wortendyke road at the intersection of Rt. 5, when she attempted to cross Rt. 5. At the same time, a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle, being operated by Joshua Fullmer, 27, of Harvester Ave., Batavia was headed east on Rt. 5 when it collided with the bicycle. Both operators sustained serious injuries and were transported by Mercy Flight to ECMC. The crash remains under investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, charges may be pending. Also assisting at the scene, NYS Police, LeRoy Ambulance, Town of Batavia Fire Department, East Pembroke Fire Department, Mercy Flight, Mercy EMS and members of the Genesee County Emergency Management Center.
