On, Thursday, May 7, an inmate package of fruit mailed to Wyoming from Queens, NY was x-rayed by an officer. The officer discovered two bundles of orange strips hidden inside the fruit. Sixty strips of suboxone was discovered.

“Four more drug seizures occurred at two prisons in Western, New York. This trend, which is occurring at facilities across the state, continues to be a serious concern for our membership and their safety. Many of the drugs seized can cause inmates to be very violent and uncontrollable. We have consistently called on DOCCS to install the Secure Vendor Program and our voice will continue to be loud and clear until they do,” said Mark Deburgomaster , Western Region Vice President.
