WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Bennington man charged in hit and run accident

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a hit and run motor vehicle accident that occurred on Lapp Road in the Town of Bennington on March 7, 2020.

Two homeowners sustained damage to their property, consisting of lawn and mailbox damage.

Deputies located the driver of the vehicle at his residence on Getman Road in the Town of Bennington. Jason R. Darlak, 36, of Bennington, admitted to being the operator of the involved vehicle at the time of the crash.

Darlak was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI, driving with a BAC of .18% or more, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC over. 08%, DWI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and failure to maintain lane.

Darlak provided a breath sample while at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office which showed a positive result above .18% BAC.

Darlak was released with appearance tickets appeared in Bennington Town Court on March 23, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Lynn A. Kunz, 37, of Belfast, was arrested on May 5, 2020 after she was observed allegedly operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license on Route 39 in the Town of Arcade.

Kunz is charged with unlicensed operator and aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd Degree. She was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Arcade Court at a later date.
