GENESEE ORLEANS/Health Dept./COVID-19 Update/Three new positive cases in Genesee, no new positive cases in Orleans

New Cases

As of 2:00 p.m.

· Genesee County received 3 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 215 positive cases

§ 2 of the positive individuals reside in Batavia and one resides in Byron.

§ Two of the individuals are in their 40’s and one is in their 50’s.

§ 0 of the previous community positive cases have recovered and have been released from mandatory isolation.

§ 0 of the new positive individuals was on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

§ 1 of the total active cases are hospitalized.

· Orleans County received 0 new positive cases of COVID-19 today for a total of 263 positive cases

§ 1 of the previous community positive cases have recovered and have been released from mandatory isolation.

§ 13 of the total active positive cases are hospitalized. Please note those in the hospital may be from the community or a state-regulated facility. We do not separate them out to protect their privacy.

Community Testing: Oak Orchard Health is now able to provide expanded COVID-19 swabbing to the public at their Albion location (future locations may be added later).

Anyone needing testing for COVID-19 and meeting the criteria (being symptomatic (sick) or required for profession) can call Oak Orchard Health at 585-589-5613 for an appointment, no walk-ins. Oak Orchard Health will do their best to accommodate scheduling demands, but be aware appointments may fill up quickly. The current testing schedule is Monday 3:40-4:40; Tuesday 4:00-5:00; Wednesday 2:20-3:20; Thursday 3:00-4:00; Friday 3:20-4:20.

· Antibody Testing: This is a current snapshot of the SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody test results both departments have received and will be updated periodically, but not daily.

o Genesee County: Of the 1,553 antibody test results received there were 45 who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 IgG (the virus that causes COVID-19) antibodies.

o Orleans County: Of the 670 antibody test results received there were 17 who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 IgG (the virus that causes COVID-19) antibodies.
