GENESEE ORLEANS/Health Dept./COVID-19/Update/Two new positive cases reported

New Cases

As of 2:00 p.m.

· Genesee County received 1 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 216 positive cases

§ The new positive individual resides in Elba.

§ The positive individual is in their 20’s.

§ The new positive individual was not on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive

§ 1 of the previous community positive cases have recovered and have been released from mandatory isolation.

§ 1 of the total active cases is hospitalized.

· Orleans County received 1 new positive cases of COVID-19 today for a total of 264 positive cases

§ The new positive individual resides in Albion.

§ The positive individual is in their 50’s.

§ The new positive individual was not on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

§ 13 of the total active positive cases are hospitalized. Please note those in the hospital may be from the community or a state-regulated facility. We do not separate them out to protect their privacy.

The facility breakdown is only showing the total positive cases from those facilities from where we received a postive swab for COVID-19.

· New York, New Jersey and Connecticut announced at 12:01 a.m. 06/25/20 travelers from states with high coronavirus rates to self-quarantine for 14 days. https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/home

Currently, states include Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Utah and Texas beginning at 12:00 a.m. Those violating could be subject to a judicial order and mandatory quarantine and potential fines. Additional guidance is forthcoming.

· Groups 25 or less until at least July 15, 2020. The Governor announced today that gathering sizes will be increasing from 25 to 50 for regions in phase 4. Further information is forthcoming.

Community Testing: Oak Orchard Health is now able to provide expanded COVID-19 swabbing to the public at their Albion location (future locations may be added later). Anyone needing testing for COVID-19 and meeting the criteria (being symptomatic (sick) or required for profession) can call Oak Orchard Health at 585-589-5613 for an appointment, no walk-ins. Oak Orchard Health will do their best to accommodate scheduling demands, but be aware appointments may fill up quickly. The current testing schedule is Monday 3:40-4:40; Tuesday 4:00-5:00; Wednesday 2:20-3:20; Thursday 3:00-4:00; Friday 3:20-4:20.
