The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Bethany Center Road in the Town of Stafford on June 26, 2020 at about 11:06am.
The initial investigation revealed that Donald M. Bernard, 57, of Fillmore, NY, was operating a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Bethany Center Road. Joseph C. Johnson, age 62, of Warren, Ohio was operating a 2019 Honda pickup southbound on Bethany Center Road.
Johnson attempted a left hand turn as the motorcycle was approaching from the opposite direction and the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the pickup. Bernard was pronounced deceased at the scene. Johnson was not injured.
The investigation is continuing by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office. Assistance was provided by Town of Batavia Fire and Mercy EMS.
