WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Portageville man facing drug charges after foot chase in Arcade

On June 20, 2020 at approximately 2:15a.m., a deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was checking on a suspicious condition, believed to be related to a domestic incident that was reported in the area of 378 Main Street in the Town of Arcade.

Upon approaching two males in the parking lot of a closed business, who were believed to be engaged in criminal activity, one male began to flee the area on foot.

A foot chase then ensued, and Dustin K. Ellwood, 41, of Portageville, NY, was taken into custody. Ellwood was found to allegedly be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, along with paraphernalia consistent with the distribution of a controlled substance.

He is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd, a class B felony, stimulant with intent to sell, criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, and obstructing governmental administration 2nd.

Ellwood was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail without bail, with a return court date tentatively set for Wyoming County Supreme Court.

Also assisting with the arrest were members of the Arcade Police Department and the New York State Police.

Ryan Donnelly was arrested on June 25, 2020 following an investigation into a burglary that occurred in March 2020.

Donnelly is charged with burglary 3rd degree and grand larceny 3rd, both are class D felonies.

Ryan is accused of unlawfully entering the victim’s barn and damaging an ATV. He then allegedly stole a second ATV that was valued at more than $3,000.

A search warrant was executed at Donnelly’s residence on June 25, 2020, and the stolen ATV was recovered from his property. Ryan is a level 3 sex offender with a prior criminal record. He also has an open felony case from May 2020 in the Town of Freedom, Cattaraugus County.

He was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court and released on his own recognizance. He is to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date. The Erie County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.

Jayson J. Wynkoop, 29, of Tonawanda, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on June 30, 2020.

Wynkoop, who was operating a delivery box truck, was stopped for speeding. During the traffic stop, the deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and marijuana. Wynkoop was found to allegedly be in possession of marijuana, and following a poor performance on field sobriety testing Wynkoop was arrested for DWAI – Drugs.

Wynkoop was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where a breath test was taken. Wynkoop was also evaluated by a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Drug Recognition Expert who determined Wynkoop was impaired by the combined influence of drugs and alcohol.

He is charged with DWAI/drugs, Driving While Ability Impaired by the Combined Influence of Drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd, unlicensed operation, uninspected motor vehicle, speed in zone, and operating in violation of restrictions.

Wynkoop was processed and released to a sober family member. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court on July 13, 2020 to answer the charges.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Route 39 and Route 19 in the Town of Pike on June 24, 2020 at 10:54a.m.

The Pike Fire Department along with Pike and Eagle Ambulances responded to the scene.

The accident occurred when Louis A. Colca, age 79, of Buffalo, was traveling east on Route 39 and failed to stop at the stop sign at Route 39, striking a vehicle driven by Shaunna M. Flint, age 36, of Pike.

Flint was northbound on Route 19 and stuck Colca’s vehicle on the passenger side.

Colca was transported via Mercy Flight to ECMC for his injuries. He was listed in stable condition and was released a short time later.

Colca’s passenger was transported by Eagle Ambulance to WCCH for a non-life threatening injuries and was later released.

Flint and her passengers were checked out at the scene and released.

This crash is still an open case and the investigation continues.
