BERGEN/Four teens involved in a rollover accident, one person was ejected and pinned under a vehicle

According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department, four teens were involved in a rollover accident on West Bergen road at 5:19a.m. Saturday morning.

A 17 year old female, driver side, rear seat passenger, was ejected from the 2008 Ford Fusion and was pinned under the trunk area of the overturned car. She suffered leg injuries and was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital.

She was extricated by members of the Bergen and Churchville fire departments after about 50 minutes.

The17 year old female driver was the only occupant wearing a seatbelt.

The vehicle was headed south on West Bergen road, when it left the roadway on the west side of the road and struck a concrete culvert, the vehicle then came back onto the road heading south and lost control, going off the road and into a ditch, striking a tree and then rolling over.

Sgt. Jason Saile says it’s possible the 17 year old female driver fell asleep or was possibly not attentive. The investigation is ongoing. The female driver was also transported to Strong hospital by ground ambulance.

The other two male occupants, a 17 and a 15 year old, were not injured. According to the Sheriff’s Department accident report, charges are pending.
