WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Domestic incident leads to the arrest of a Buffalo man

On July 18th, 2020, Enrique M. Pereira III, 29, of Buffalo, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief 4th degree/ preventing a request for emergency assistance, following a domestic incident on Barber Road, in the Town of Castile.

At around 4:51p.m., deputies received a report of a female standing roadside with her two year old child and Pereira was allegedly causing issues.

While in route to the scene, the dispatch center advised the male had returned to the scene and then lost contact with the complainant. Deputies arrived on scene and interviewed both parties separately.

Following a roadside investigation, it was alleged that Pereira had taken the victim’s phone out of their hand and hung up on 911 while the victim was holding the two year old child.

Pereira was taken into custody and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Pereira was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the Town of Castile court at a later date.

On July 21, 2020, Dillen J. Powell, 20, of West Seneca, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt 1st degree/ telephones and aggravated family offense, both felonies.

On July 19th, 2020, deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a possible order of protection violation that occurred in the Town of Bennington. Deputies investigated the allegation of Powell contacting a protected party of an order of protection in a harassing/threatening manner via phone calls and text messages.

Powell’s conduct was deemed harassing, therefore violating the order of protection against him. Charges were filed in the Town of Bennington Court and a warrant of arrest was issued.

On July 21st, 2020, deputies worked with the West Seneca Police Department to take Powell into custody. Powell was arraigned via Skype in front of Judge Fusani, of the Warsaw Town Court, and Powell was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond, per the District Attorney’s Office recommendation.

Powell is scheduled to appear in the Wyoming County Court at a later date.

Following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on July 25, 2020, Juswha A D Ornellas, 22, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.

D Ornellas was released with an appearance ticket and is to appear in Sheldon Town Court on 08/03/2020.
