BATAVIA/Police arrest Wright on two outstanding warrants

Devon A. Wright,18, of Batavia, was arrested on two outstanding warrants, failure to pay a fine, original charges: harassment 2nd, grand larceny 4th, endangering the welfare of a child, attempted grand larceny 4th, and failure to appear, original charge: criminal contempt 2nd

Wright was observed traveling in a vehicle in the area of State Street by Officers Hedges and Borchert who are assigned to the area on a special NET detail. Wright was taken into custody by Officers Tucker, Hedges and Borchert on North Street without incident.

He was arraigned by City Court Judge Saleh at 9:55 P.M.on July 24, 2020 and remanded to the Genesee County Jail without bail.

Wright will appear in City Court at a later date.

Wright was arrested April 22nd for an incident on April 8, 2020 where Wright allegedly intentionally struck a pedestrian with his car.

Following an investigation into sex abuse involving children under the age of 15, Wright was arrested on April 29, 2020 and charged with two counts of criminal sexual act 2nd, a class D felony, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child less than 17 and resisting arrest.

The sex abuse is alleged to have occurred on November 26, 2019.
