ORLEANS COUNTY/Drug arrest/fatal overdose investigation

ON AUGUST 5TH, 2020, AFTER A LENGTHY INVESTIGATION INTO A FATAL OVERDOSE THAT OCCURED IN NOVEMBER OF 2019, INVESTIGATORS WITH THE ORLEANS COUNTY MAJOR FELONY CRIME TASK FORCE AND THE ORLEANS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPT., MADE AN ARREST OF A ROCHESTER MAN WHO WAS SELLING THE LETHAL COMBINATION OF HEROIN AND FENTANYL TO INDIVIDUALS FROM ORLEANS COUNTY.

POLICE ARRESTED:

KASHBI C. SANDERS, AGE 28, OF CHARLOTTE ST. APT 106., ROCHESTER, N.Y., HE IS CHARGED WITH:

2 COUNTS OF CRIMINAL SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE.(CLASS B FELONIES).

SANDERS WAS ARRAIGNED IN ORLEANS COUNTY COURT, BY THE HON. SANFORD A. CHURCH, AND WAS RELEASED ON HIS OWN RECOGNIZANCE DUE TO THE NEW YORK STATE BAIL REFORM LAWS. SANDERS IS TO RETURN TO ORLEANS COUNTY COURT ON 08/12/20 AT 10:00 A.M. FOR FURTHER COURT PROCEEDINGS.

SANDERS IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD IN THE MONROE COUNTY JAIL AFTER BEING ARRESTED BY THE ROCHESTER POLICE DEPT. ON NUMEROUS FELONY WEAPON CHARGES ALONG WITH A ROBBERY IN THE FIRST DEGREE CHARGE AND ASSAULT IN THE SECOND DEGREE CHARGE BACK IN APRIL OF 2020.

THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE FATAL OVERDOSE IS ONGOING IN THIS CASE.

THE ROCHESTER POLICE DEPT. AND THE MONROE COUNTY HEROIN TASK FORCE ALSO ASSISTED IN THE INVESTIGATION
