GENESEE COUNTY/Batavia woman facing felony drug charges after narcotics investigation

On August 12, 2020, The Batavia Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at 22 Hutchins Place in Batavia, as part of a narcotics investigation conducted by the Genesee County Drug Task Force.

As a result of the investigation, Angela Bateman, 46, of West Main street road, Batavia was charged with the following:

-Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd, a class B felony.

-Criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th, a class C felony.

-Criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd, a class A misdemeanor.

-Unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

On August 24, 2020, Bateman was located by Officers from the City of Batavia Police Department. Bateman was arrested and then transported to the Genesee County Jail, where suspected fentanyl was found on Bateman’s person.

Bateman was additionally charged with promoting prison contraband 1st, a class D felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, a class A misdemeanor.

The City of Batavia Police Department, Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office also assisted with the investigation.
