Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors, Jerry L. Davis, reports, as of earlier today, Monday, August 31st, the Wyoming County Health Department reports one hundred twenty (120) lab confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 among Wyoming County residents.
This is an increase of one (1)case from the last reported increase on Monday, August 24th.
Northwest (Attica, Bennington, Orangeville, Sheldon) 36-postive cases 36- recoveries, 0-deaths.
Southwest (Arcade, Eagle, Java, Wethersfield) 24- positive cases, 23- recoveries, 0- deaths
Southeast (Castile, Gainesville, Genesee Falls, Pike) 22-positive cases, 22- recoveries, 0-deaths.
Northeast (Covington, Middlebury, Perry, Warsaw) 38- positive cases, 33-recoveries, 5-deaths
TOTAL 120 positive cases, 114 recoveries, 5 deaths
*Two (2) of the cases reported in the Northwest Quadrant are attributed to the Attica Correctional Facility.
**In response to increased rates of COVID-19 transmission in certain states within the United States, and to protect New York’s successful containment of COVID-19, the State has issued a travel advisory for anyone returning from travel to states that have a significant degree of community-wide spread of COVID-19.
