Left to right- William Sheron Jr., Assemblyman Steve Hawley, Candidate for Senate, Ed Rath, Judge Tom Williams, and Congressman Chris Jacobs

The Republican candidates running in the November 2020 elections were on hand at 207 Ellicott street today to officially open the party headquarters.

Assemblyman Steve Hawley, Congressman Chris Jacobs, Ed Rath, Candidate for State Senate, Sheriff William Sheron Jr. and Judge Tom Williams were all on hand today to kick the campaign season into first gear with 47 days left until election day.

Assemblyman Hawley mentioned the current turmoil going on in the country currently and the COVID-19 virus that has descended upon families and neighbors.

“In Rochester and Buffalo last night, violence erupted. There is no respect for law enforcement these days and there needs to be accountability for those who break the laws of the state of NY and this country,” Hawley says.

Bail reform in NYS was a concern for of each candidate.

“I think we can see what happened as a result of it. People who create crimes are taken in, booked and then immediately released, some with very violent crimes that they’ve committed.”

Candidate for State Senate, Ed Rath says its absolutely shameful that we are disrespecting our law enforcement in 2020 in these times of civil unrest.

“What we should be doing is investing in our law enforcement, showing them that they are absolutely mission critical for keeping the peace, establishing the rule of law.”

Seeking a second term as Sheriff, William Sheron Jr. says these are unprecedented times.

“Officers are being disrespected and not backed by Cuomo and democrats and I can’t thank you enough for the support you have given us. I cant’ tell you how much it is appreciated by the men and women on the street.”

Congressman Chris Jacobs talked about being on the agricultural committee the past few months.

“I have learned so much. As we come back from this COVID crisis, a bright spot has been what it takes to be part of putting food on the table of citizens in this country. People have much more of an appreciation of the those in agriculture and I believe that will translate to better policies so we can grow more here locally and its good for the economy. And we realize this is part of our national security.”

Good afternoon, after this nightmare of an election I need to find some form of involvement in the genesee county republican committee. I am a life long republican and I am very nervous that our party is beginning to loose strength. What the press did, Facebook and Twitter, we cannot take this laying down. I am looking to meet with fellow Republicans to counter the press in any small way and rebuild the values of this country that us republicans hold dear to our heart. I want to help do my part strengthening our party and countering the progressive democrats theme of socialism.
