ORLEANS COUNTY/Five arrested after chemical tanks punctured by bullets in Ridgeway

On September 21, 2020 at 4:45p.m., the Ridgeway Fire Department was dispatched to 3956 Allis Road for a chemical tank leaking its contents.

Upon the Fire Departments arrival, it was determined that the tanks were punctured by bullets with bullets still ricocheting off the tanks and building.

The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, NYS DEC, NYS Police and Medina Police all responded to the scene.

After a search of the surrounding fields, five individuals were located south of the facility. The five individuals admitted to target shooting and disclosed to deputies their location in the woods.

An investigation at the scene revealed that the shooting lane they were using was directly in line with the chemical tank and building.

Two juveniles and three adults were arrested and charged with, reckless endangerment 2nd and criminal mischief 4th. All were issued appearance tickets.

The three adults are to appear in the Town of Ridgeway Court on October 5, 2020 at 9:00a.m.

The three arrested adults are:

Jared S. Silva-, 41, no address provided.

Stephen J. Jackson, 41, no address provided.

Joe W. Jackson, 34, no address provided.

The holding tanks at “Helena Agri-Enterprises LLC” suffered extensive damage. A supervisor from the company made a preliminary estimate of $65,000 in damage to the tanks.
