Ralph Esten Jr. is a lifelong resident of Oakfield along with his wife Michelle. They have one son Matthew (Amanda) Kastlic and a grandson Lukas.

Ralph was diagnosed in September 2011 with a Glioblastoma brain tumor.  He has battled this awful disease day in and day out, enduring multiple rounds of chemotherapy and trials to keep the tumor from growing over the years.

The fight continues, as Ralph just started a new chemo treatment recently. Friends, family and community members are looking for a way to help reduce any financial stress for Ralph and his family, as co-pays, travel expenses, and time away from work add up.

A Chicken BBQ/Pulled Pork Benefit is planned for Sunday November 29, 2020 from Noon-4:00p.m, by Holy Smoke Chicken BBQ & Catering.

The event is drive- thru only at the Town of Batavia Firehall (8382 LEWISTON RD, BATAVIA-ACROSS FROM OLD KMART)

The event is being planned by Angelique Newton and Nikki Kirkum along with help from family and friends.

“I feel that it is so important to have a fundraiser to help both Ralph and Michelle to take some of the financial burden off of them,” says co- organizer Angelique Newton.

“They never ask for anything and their friends wanted to come together to help them. Ralph and Michelle are always there for anyone who needs help, and now its time for us to give back to them.”

Newton says Ralph’s new chemo, which he just started this week, comes with a strict diet that he must follow and his wife Michelle has taken a leave from work to be home to take care of him.
